About Me

Current Project

Japan is an archipelago of more than 6,800 islands in the Pacific Ocean. The main islands of Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu, and Okinawa.

Japan has an ancient history and very strong traditions that are still very much in use today. It is so fascinating to discover what makes Japan so special. I will be living in Japan until 2025, follow me on this journey of cultural discovery and travel exploration.

Artist Statement

I strive to create meaningful photographs that are artistically inspired, thoughtfully conceived, and technically executed with a documentary feel. I’m drawn to the elegant and timeless beauty found in nature.  The natural world has many moods and visual rhythms created by the light. Before taking a photograph, I spend time getting to know the natural light, colors, shapes, textures and motion in a specific area.  From reflections in still water, to a short stretch of beach, to the patterns the sand makes when the tide goes back out to sea and the rise and fall of the sun –it is this process of intimate discovery that I identify the subject matter and create meaningful work. My images go beyond the literal interpretation of a scene, replacing it with the personal creative vision and emotion I bring to my photography.
